"Earth Leaves", by Chris Luther
I remember when I was in 1st grade our teacher asked us what we would like to be when we grew up and why. My answer was, " I want to be a farmer so that I can take care of the animals". A couple of years later in our 4th grade class we were introduced to recycling and how to be aware of our impact on our planet. To this day I still have a bit of a green thumb, and would still be a farmer if I was not a musician/songwriter. This song idea came to me from hearing about how much we have been failing on environmental justice, and how we must speak for those who cannot. The song is about the resurrection of all of the Earths inhabitants to the rights of a clean and safe environment. Here are the lyrics
“Earth Leaves” , by Chris Luther
Mint glistened sky
Rise Frankenstein
On this priceless jewel
The truth cannot hide
From the darkest nights
Our veins will shine again
Turning Earth leaves
One at a time turning Earth leaves
Turning Earth leaves
With it all on your sleeve
Turning Earth leaves (overturning Earth leaves)
Immersed in a fire
Bound to our roots
We spread out our vines
Through this neighborhood too
From the darkest nights
Our veins will shine again
Turning Earth leaves
One at a time turning Earth leaves
Turning Earth leaves
With it all on your sleeve
Turning Earth leaves (overturning Earth leaves)
We’re out on a limb
Green, purple, red
It all falls down to
If you can picture the truth
From the darkest nights
Our veins will shine again
Turning Earth leaves
One at a time turning Earth leaves
Turning Earth leaves
With it all on your sleeve
Turning Earth leaves (overturning Earth leaves)
Turning Earth leaves
One at a time turning Earth leaves
Turning Earth leaves
With it all on your sleeve
Turning Earth leaves (overturning Earth leaves)
