Chris has been a performer for audiences nearly all his life. His experiences include music in; Country, Rock, Jazz, and Musicals. Chris became a recording artist at an early age, and this passion led him to university. Chris writes music based on his travels, and teaches guitar lessons.
Chris Luther is from Wilmington North Carolina, and performs traditional Jazz and Blues standards for solo guitar. Chris is a United States Guitarist who grew up in Greensboro NC, and his influences include, Wes Montgomery, Django Reinhardt, and Joe Pass. Chris has performed twice for WHQR’s Soup to Nuts live radio program. His last radio performance was in 2017 with his gypsy jazz trio Cafe Nouveau. In 2019 Chris composed various waltzes, standards, and dance music while studying gypsy jazz guitar at Smith College in Massachusetts. His album, “Songs of The Night Rose," was released in March of 2020. Chris was the house guitarist for Benny Hills Jazz jam from 2008 - 2021, in which he performed jazz guitar every Sunday night, as an accompanist and soloist. Chris also performed in various downtown Wilmington restaurants including, The Platypus and Gnome,Tarantelli’s, and The Cheese Board. In 2022, Chris has been performing regularly at The Blockade Runner Beach resort on Wrightsville Beach.
