“Cafe Nouveau” is a string based trio set in the spirit of GypsyJazz. Originally formed in 2017, with founding members; Alex Chamyan (v), Chris Luther (g), and Sean Martin (g). Cafe Nouveau is inspired by the music of Django Reinhardt, and Stephane Grappelli. Cafe Nouveau performs regularly at the downtown restaurant Platypus and Gnome, and has been building a following in Wilmington N.C. Cafe Nouveau offers a unique style of music known as “Gypsy Jazz”, which is a style that has been growing rapidly across the United States. In the essence of Django’s, “Hot Club Of France”, the group is expanding it’s repertoire which includes distinct improvisations, and a strong gypsy rhythm! Cafe Nouveau
